Frequently Asked Questions
Lashes
What should I do to prepare for my first time getting lashes?
This is a great question! When getting a full set for the first time. I highly recommend washing your lashes prior, or at least removing any eye makeup. This is because makeup on the lashes can affect the efficacy of lash glue which can result in poor results.
What if I’m allergic to lashes?
Having an allergic reaction is rare! If you do create an allergy, it’s usually from ingredients in the glue itself. I use a high quality glue, however everyone is different. IF you are worried if you are allergic, I offer a free consultation and free patch test. Contact me for more info.
Should I was my lashes?
YES, YES, and so much YES. Washing your lashes regularly helps prevent dander, pollen, eye goobers, makeup and more from building up over time. Lash health is important but so easy when using a lash extension cleanser.
Can I see you if I got my lashes done somewhere else?
Of course! Although, my techniques are different, I don’t charge extra. With me, your lashes will look snatched! I’d love to see you!
Sugaring
Do you take trans, non-binary, gay clients?
Hell yes! EVERY-Body is welcomed at Espi Esthetics regardless of gender & sexuality. I offer professional services for all!
I’ve never been sugared before, how do I prepare?
For your comfort and hygiene wise, I highly recommend showering thoroughly prior your appointment. If that is not possible, the building i’m in has a restroom to freshen up in. I have seen thousands of bodies in my profession and I will never judge you. Showering also removes access oils on the body that can affect sugaring results.
How often should I get sugared?
In general, 4-6 weeks is standard. This varies based on how fast your hair grows and the results you wish to achieve.
How long should my hair be? Should I shave first?
The hair needs to be 1/4 inch in length or, the length of a grain of rice. Anything shorter the sugar will not be able to stick to the hair. PLEASE do not shave/trim prior to your appointment. This could make the hairs to short for me to preform your service.
Does sugaring hurt?
Some say it does and some say it doesn’t hurt. It depends on your pain tolerance. If you are on your period, your pain may be more heightened and cause more discomfort.
Okay, what is the difference between wax and sugaring?
I could go on, but wax is oil based, sugar is water based. Oil loves oil which our skin is made up of and that can cause lifting of the skin, while sugaring is unable to stick to oils on the skin and only the hair. Which is why sugaring in my opinion is more effective than wax. To learn more in depth about sugaring click here
What should I do after sugaring?
No lotions, potions, or repetitive motions is the best way to go about it! Keep it simple and light after. I highly recommend showering with soap and water to cleanse the areas. Sugar is H2O soluble so any stickiness after, washes away with warm water.
Facials:
Do you use organic products and if so what line do you use?
Every product I use during the facial is vegan, cruelty free and natural. This even goes with my sugaring and lash supplies. I only use vegan products.
Do you offer peels?
I do, but only during the fall and winter months. This is because sun exposure during spring and summer can cause hypo/hyper pigmentation. That way we can get you the results you want.
-What should I do to prepare for my first facial?
Come as is. If it’s a day off come cozy. If possible have no makeup on but that is not an issue if you still have makeup on. The products I use are gentle and remove it during the facial. My facials are relaxing and a safe environment for all.
